Winter 2002-2003

Greetings from Marie Hennessy!

What a wonderful, exciting summer weve had! It seems just yesterday that we were hiking, canoeing and biking at our summer
events. It was great to meet new guides and participants!...and YES! They all agreed to return!   Many thanks to Board members who worked to make these events run so smoothly.  And thanks to the Web Site Committee for their hard work!
We look forward to seeing you all at our winter events!!

We are pleased to announce that the NERSFL Board has decided to send Sandie Page to the SFL International
Event in Anchorage.

You must send the total payment for the Craftsbury trip.  You may submit either a deposit of $25 or the entire cost for the Bretton Woods trip.  Enrollment and initial payment  must be received by December 1.  The balance due for the  Bretton Woods trip must be received by January 9, 2003.  All deposits ( $25 per trip ) are nonrefundable.  The balance for the  trips is nonrefundable unless your space can be filled.  We will do our best to assist you to find a substitute, but it is ultimately your responsibility to find a replacement.  Financial assistance is available for people who cannot afford the full cost of a trip.  To be considered, submit a letter of need with the application.

Click here for an application for you to complete and send with your  payment.  Health and Liability forms
will be sent to you after we receive your enrollment.  (All forms can be found on this web site.)
All forms must be filled out and signed before you can participate in the event.  For your own health and safety, NERSFL  requires all participants, sighted or not, to complete the personal health form.  This confidential record requires your candid, accurate and legible completion.  Every item in every section must be completed.

Physical Condition
Anyone in average physical condition can expect to participate in  these events.  If we have any
questions about your ability to participate , we will call and discuss it with you.  In questionable cases,
the decision to participate will lie with the participant and his or her physician.  Participants must take responsibility for their own health at these events.  Your enjoyment will be enhanced by any measures you take to improve your physical fitness and stamina before the event.

Transportation will be available by car-pooling.  You will be contacted about a week before an event to make
travel arrangements.  Guides are encouraged to let us know if they are willing to drive and how many passengers they can take.  All passengers are expected to contribute towards the cost of gasoline.  If you are coming to an event from out of town, do not make travel plans on public transportation prior to 7:00 pm on the last day.  It is very difficult to guarantee a
return to transportation centers prior to this time without disrupting other participants.

Please stay tuned for summer event listings!
